“We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far.” Swami Vivekananda
I couldn’t understand until recently how come we are in control of our life. It came to my mind that we think of something or at someone, those thoughts create feelings of love, anger, disappointment, excitement, then we react (over-react) based on those feeling, and in the end, we create actions..many of them we regret in time. After all, we are also responsible for every action we take.
We only have control over three things in your life:
- the thoughts we think
- the images we visualize
- the actions we take
The hardest part I found in this life of Earth, was for me to stop… stop thinking, stop loving, stop judging, stop having expectations. Although was one of the hardest things I could experience, when the time came and I could silence my thoughts even for 10 minutes and start living in the present moment, then I realized that I am in control of my life. After that, anytime I would have any kind of thoughts, I would let them rest first, no judging, not forcing to stay, just let them flow like the water in a river or like the clouds in the sky. After that, whatever was left I would take and put them into feelings and later on in actions. But the funny thing was that every time I did that, was nothing left, but thoughts left behind. With that in my mind, I start living the most beautiful days, even though I was many times surrounded by thoughts less or more kind and peaceful. I finally understood that are harmless, and without feeding them they will leave. I couldn’t be happier in those moments.
In the last hours of your life you will be alone with your thoughts; take care of your feelings now to not regret the actions later
