If tomorrow we will wake up living the same day that just ended, we will be able to live it for the rest of our lives? Do we really take every beautiful moment from this life and add it to our journey or we are always in rush, running for unnecessary things, and crying for unimportant reasons? We waste so much time recalling the memories that passed, and we forgot to make new ones. We look more for the pictures we took and less in the mirror to face the reality we have in the reflection. The eyes are sad, dark circles from the white nights, grey hair reminding us that life is passing fast, and yet we do not accept and face it. We remember more the things we had, we forget we live in the present with our friends and family, and we get caught in a loop of life. Same coffee in the morning, one spoon of sugar, the same station to stop, the same routine during the day, and we get to bed exhausted after all the things we have done. It is a trap where we got caught, in a temporary place in an infinite time. We walk on the wheel, and what begins is getting back to an end, just to start overall again. If that would be the loop for the rest of our life, what we would change right now? Life doesn’t choose for you the perfect day to live in loop, would take the last one you had, would choose yesterday. Did we live enough? We wish we could do more, we loved enough, we cared too much or not at all? We were far away from our house and children, we were ill, or suffering from love or loss? It was enough?
“Beyond the edge of the world, there’s a space where emptiness and substance neatly overlap, where past and future form a continuous, endless loop. And, hovering about, there are signs no one has ever read, chords no one has ever heard.”
― Haruki Murakami
We are drained from every desire and passion that got lost in time, we are just a hollow corpse that carries the last spark of life inside. If we want to listen to the heartbeat, from inside is just the echo screaming from a shredded heart that loved too much and lost it all. We trip and fall so many times, we carry bruises on our body, we leave deep scars without makeup on, we are exposed and there is nothing else to hide. We fought our demons for so long, we lost in every battle, we tried to fix a broken heart, we lost every single time. We are never aware of when life will end or when is going to give us another chance, but life doesn’t wait, and days are not returning anymore. With the last strength, to make it right is worthless, the battle was too long, the demons are too strong. To jump in another loop today, will break apart what was left to live, but to see every day a loved one dying, to miss the train in every station, to hear what maybe it would break you more, it’s hard to even think off. “Live like you have only one day left”, they said, but no one ever tells you when everything is over. We can sit quietly with a lost hope waiting for that moment or we can try to live with what is left and make it better while it lasts.
“Déjà vu. Déjà su. Déjà vécu.
Already seen. Already known. Already lived.”
― V. E. Schwab
If tomorrow you will wake up on the same day as yesterday, with the same food you ate, the phone calls you made, the places you have seen and people you loved, what would you wish you’ll add or remove? Some rain, more sun, a trip, a nap? To have an extra hour or a day to live is not what is all of this about. One extra day to live or endless chances are not going to change anything you already have. We only have the present, and even trapped in an endless day that would start over every morning, we still have a choice to make and a force to change it. We don’t erase the past and we can’t predict the future, but all we have is that we can live the present. Even when you feel that nothing is important for whatever reason, the small moments from our lives are the ones who made this life worth it. To stop and listen to the birds looking for a mate in spring, the waves that come closer to the shore, the children playing and laughing chasing butterflies, the entire world that is spreading a positive vibe through all her powers. Everything is there waiting for us and is trying every day to remind us how important is to live and see the small gestures. A smile, a flower, a handshake, or a hello, are free of charge and yet so valuable. We have a loop that is called life, and longer or shorter is what takes us back to the present and reminds us that what is today, is exactly what we need to have. Let’s enjoy and add a little bit more glitter and spark in our lives, is hard but we can’t fight against but walking by with our fears. We should be grateful when we get a chance to start over because we learn a little bit more, and we forget as well, giving us a chance to try as many things are possible. We are in a loop, but that is the loop of life, and life on earth never been more valuable than ever.
“There is a world of answers, outside the loop.”
― Anthony Liccione
